Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, two branches Vert of orange tree, fruited Tawny, crossed per saltire , in central chief a black crow.Three-towered mural crown Argent and white scroll with black lettering, in capitals, reading "SANTO ANDRÉ- SANTIAGO DO CACÉM".
Meaning:
The order per saltire (St. Andrew’s cross) is alluding to the local patron saint and name giver

Presentation of Vila Nova de Santo André

Vila Nova de Santo André Commune is one of the eight communes of the Santiago do Cacém municipality (q.v.); it had inhabitants in 2011 and covers km². The commune was upgraded to a town in 1991 and to a city in 2003, was renamed to "Vila Nova de Santo André" probably after 2007.
