Shield Gules, a knight Argent with sword and shield charged with the sword cross of St. James, riding on a horse Sable, in orle eight scallops Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "FREGUESIA DE SANTIAGO DO CACÉM".
Meaning:
The knight also appears in the arms of the municipality. It is St. James the Elder (Port.: São Tiago, Spanish: Santiago), the patron saint and name giver of commune and municipality. The scallop is his attribute.
