Shield Argent with base barruly wavy of Azure and Argent a Romanesque church Sable masoned Argent and with door Or in chief a lizard Vert flanked by two olive twigs Vert fruited Sable and a. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ADEGANHA E CARDANHA".
Meaning:
This coat of arms is a relatively successful merger of the preexisting ones of each of the two named former communes, Adeganha and Cardanha, very likely inheriting their symbolism.

Presentation of

Adeganha and Cardanha United Commune was one of the four communes of Moncorvo Municipality created anew by the 2013 changes; the new commune has an accummulated population of 574 inhabitants according to 2011 data and covers 64,46 km².

shield Azure with base barruly wavy of Argent and Azure a Romanesque church Argent masoned Sable with port and windows Azure flanked in chief by two olive twigs Or fruited Sable. Mural crown Argent three visible towers ( white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ADEGANHA".
Meaning:
The coat of arms shows the local parochial church of Saint James the Elder (Igreja Matriz de Santiago Maior de Adeganha), national heritage since 1944. The twigs symbolise the cultivation of olives, agriculture and the fertility of the soil. The base wavy represents the Sabor River.

Adeganha was one of the eight communes of Moncorvo (or Torre de Moncorvo) Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 343 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 48,96 km².

Shield Argent with base barruly wavy of Azure and Argent a lizard Vert in chief two olive branches Vert and fruited Sable with their stems in saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CARDANHA".
Meaning:
The coat of arms shows a lizard to illustrate the inhabitants´ traditional nickname povo lagarto (= lizard people — seriously!), the olive branches stand for the local importance of agriculture, especially the cultivation and treatment of olives, and the wavy base symbolises the local River Sabor.
