Meaning:
Shield Argent, three connected lozenges Vert in fess, the dexter one charged with a wheat ear Or, the sinister one with a corn cob of the same, issuant from base a one arch throughout Roman brigde Gules masoned Argent, on central chief an orbicular cross Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black serifed initials "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE CASAIS E ALVIOBEIRA".

Casais e Alviobeira was one of the communes of Tomar Municipality created by the 2013 mergers; it had 2528 inhabitants in 2021 and covered 35,96 km².

Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a corn cob Gules leaved Vert and an olive branch Vert fruited Sable crossed per saltire, in central chief a cross patty rounded Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ALVIOBEIRA".
Meaning:
The Portuguese chapter of the Order of the Templars was installed by King D. Afonso Henrique and played an important role during the fight against the Moors.The King granted all ecclesiastical rights of Santarém to the order after the capture of the city. Due to a conflict with D. Gilberto, the 1st bishop of Lisboa, the Templars lost all churches of Santarém except the Church of St. James (S. Tiago). They gained instead the castle of Ceras as a compensation. The parish church of Alviobeira had been a vicarage of the Order of Christ. Corn cob and olive branch are reminding on the amount of crops which had to be paid by the local tenants to the Order of Christ

Presentation of Alviobeira

Alviobeira was one of the pre-2013 communes of Tomar Municipality; it had 623 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 8,6 km². The commune belonged to Ferreira do Zêzere until 1855 and became part of Tomar municipality on 24 October 1855.
