Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Vouga River, the mount of the Arada Mountains. Ears and bees represent two important business lines, agriculture and apiary.

Calde is one of the 18 communes of Viseu Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1271 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 38,36 km².
