The arms are Gules a Paschal Lamb Argent holding a cross-bearing staff Or flagged Argent with cross throughout Gules, in chief two orbicular crosses Or, in base wavy Azure a barrulet wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CAPELUDOS".
Meaning:
The lamb usually is an attribute of St. John the Baptist. The base wavy probably symbolises the little river Rio da Portela.
