Novial, an acronym of Nova International Auxiliari
Lingue was created in 1928 by Otto Jespersen, formerly
esperantist and
idist. No speakers currently.

As newly informed by Rodríguez (pers.
comm.), the emblem of Novial is something like two superimposed quadrangles
with inward curve edges of a light reddish hue, one of them symmetrical and
standing on a side and the other, standing on a point, with the upper point
clearly extended; the overlapping area is golden yellow. This emblem was
usually set on a white background.

The article [rod97] reports a seven
pointed star on a «dark» background. The author of this source,
Rodríguez, informed me later that this vague description was wrong.

In Panorama in interlingua 2/1991: p.16 “Ab le
archivo” [ial91a] black and white
symbols of constructed languages from «our archive»
(probably the image sources as for [rod97]?),
which I quote: «Novial, 1928» (dates are probably language
publishing, not symbol creation, judging from 1887 for
Esperanto):
Quite different from the other reported design:
a regular starry heptagon (seven pointed star), with every third
point colinear, ponting rightwards, outlined and superimposed on a
similar, denser filled star (with common tip points but visible
along the concave overlap spaces).
