Baraolt (in Hungarian Barót) is a town in Covasna / Kovászna county (formerly Háromszék, Székely Land). The settlement has 9670 inhabitants (95.9% Hungarian (Székely), 3.1% Romanian by the 2002 census. Religious composition is: 47.9% Calvinist, 29.9% Roman Catholic, 16.8% Unitarian, 5.4% others. The town is the union of the following settlements: Baraolt / Barót (95% Hungarian in 1992), Biborţeni / Bibarcfalva (100% Hungarian in 1992), Bodoş / Bodos (99% Hungarian in 1992), Căpeni / Köpec (98% Hungarian in 1992), Micloşoara / Miklósvár (98% Hungarian in 1992), Racoşul de Sus / Felsőrákos (100% Hungarian in 1992). The first mention of the town is from 1221 as 'BAROLT'. The settlement was in Miklósvár district of Háromszék county of the Kingdom of Hungary. After 1918/1920 (Romanian occupation/Treaty of Trianon) the settlements became part of Romania (Treiscaune County). 1940-1944 part of Hungary (Háromszék county). 1945-1951 in Treiscaune county, 1951-1960 in Hungarian Autonomous Region, 1960-1968 in Brasov Region and from 1968 in Covasna county.

I found the original small table flag in the town hall of Pápa town. I have no more information about it.
