Flag and Coat of Arms of this village in Humenne district, eastern Slovakia, are at this website.

On its English page one reads:

In eastern Slovakia, south-east of Humenné, there is a small village called Ptičie. Ptičie is situated on a beautiful place of nature between two hills, Humenská to the north and Čierna to the south. There are a lot of rocks and others natural creations in the surroundings. Ptičie has 660 inhabitants who live in 187 houses and 6 flats. It has a very rich history. A document in a Zemplín archive tells about the settlement Peteche in 1273 and about the domicile in 1451. In the chronicle is also mentioned a castle Peteche which Jáko from Michalovce, the forefather of Sztáray's family, gets from king Štefan. From the half of 17th till the 19th century Ptičie was owned by a Csáky's family, later Szapary's one. In the village is a roman-catholic church of the Blessed Virgin Mary which has been built in 1802. From 1900 till 1910 many people moved to USA, Canada or Argentina to find a job. The famous film star Paul Newman came from one of these families. Ptičie has known the Second World War. It has been freed on 25th of November 1944. In 1951 the village was flooded. Here was found a treasure of 236 Celtic coins weighing about 3,5 kg. The name of village comes from Hungary (Peteche) or from Slovene's word "Ptička" which means the bird because of a lot of birds in local woods.
