Monte San Juan is a municipality in the Cuscatlán department of El Salvador.
The town arose from the merger of the villages of San Juan Arriba (English:
Upper St. John), San Juan Abajo (English: Lower St. John) and Monte Redondo
(English: Round Mount), by Presidential Decree of Santiago González Portillo of
August 12, 1873.
