Roundel of red-yellow-blue is based on the national flag, used since 1960s. Source: L'Album, 2000 [pay00], Cochrane & Elliott, 1998 [c2e98]

[c2e98] report a vertical rudder stripes as seen at http://www.skytamer.com/roundels/chad/01.htm.

However. They report it mirrored (red inside - but maybe those are mirrored on the left side....I doubt it) while Wheeler, 1986, [whe86], reports them as fin flash with blue inside....
