The flag of Kılıçarslan is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features a lion surmounted by two swords.
Kılıçarslan literally means "sword lion", a name that was used by four Seljuq sultans of Rüm. Kılıçarslan I (1092-1107) defeated the Crusaders in three battles during the Crusade of 1101, fought against the Danishmends and was eventually defeated and killed by the Great Seljuqs at the battle of river Khabur.
