From <www.heraldry.com.ua>:
It was found in XVI-XVII centuries as a little villages
("sloboda"). The peasant Tkachenko has lodged there. He
has opened own sunflower-seed oil (olia) manufacture. Activity of
Tkachenko family was reflected in the name of settlement. This
fact appeared the brightest in a history of village. (Znak N31
(2003)).
The gonfalon was confirmed by the decision of the ninth session
of village council XXIV convocation at October, 24th, 2003. The
square panel consists two horizontal strips, on top green (in 3/4
of flag width) is the stylized yellow 14-petals sunflower from
which falls the yellow drop at the left, the bottom strip of a
flag is yellow.
