The city of Wildomar (14,064 inhabitants in 2000; 3,430 ha), incorporated on 1 July 2008, is located in Riverside County, in the south of California. Wildomar was named after William Collier, Donald Graham and Margaret Collier Graham, who founded the town in the late 1880s. In "The Press-Enterprise", 26 February 2009, Julissa McKinnon reports the raising of the city flag of Wildomar,
hoisted on 26 February 2009 on the new pole erected in front of the City Hall, as follows:
"[...]
The city flag bears Wildomar's 'interim logo', as city officials call the design that features a W flanked by 25 stars representing Wildomar as Riverside County's 25th city. Council members brainstormed the logo shortly after Wildomar incorporated last July. However, the council is in search of more permanent insignia.
Sometime in March the City Council plans to decide on both a monument logo and what Mayor Scott Farnam called a "branding logo." "We're looking for a city logo which could be around for 50 to 100 years. This would be the core brand that goes on bronze monuments and signs," Farnam said. "And then there is a marketing logo which could change every 18 months to
five years." Farnam, Councilman Bob Cashman and a group of graphic designers will be reviewing about 30 entries that Wildomar collected during a recent logo contest. From those drawings the group will come up with a handful of possible
logo candidates. [...]"

The flag, shown in the article, is blue with a red border. There are five rows of five stars each placed near the fly; a blue disk outlined in white and charged with a white "W" is placed near the fly, surrounded by the writings, in blue letters outlined in white, "CITY OF WILDOMAR" (top) and "INCORPORATED 2008" (bottom, in smaller letters).
