A blue-white flag, with the town seal at the center. The seal consists of a blue-line drawing of several local scenes. The town name and dates are written around the seal. Cohasset is in Norfolk County.

"Cohasset Massachusetts is a quiet residential town on the Atlantic Ocean and located 20 miles southeast of Boston in Norfolk County. Jerusalem Road is well-known for its beautiful homes and ocean views. Major routes passing through Cohasset include Mass. Route 3A"

It shows the name COHASSET on a ribbon above the seal, and a rope and two anchors and the date 1770 below it.

Quoting the article:

The Board of Selectmen gave the Historical Society the thumbs up to proceed in reviving the official town flag as a fundraiser. The flag was adopted as the official town flag in October 1969 as part of the town's bicentennial celebrations. Selectmen retained the rights to its reproduction, which made their approval necessary.

The flag has a blue design on a white background. The central portion is a reproduction of the Cohasset town seal. Above the seal is a scroll with the word "Cohasset." Underneath is the year 1770, the year Cohasset broke from Hingham and became its own town, as well as two anchors. The two anchors at either side of the seal symbolize the hope of the future, according to published reports from late 1969.

Approval was granted in 1969 to fly the town flag on the same pole as the American Flag, and for many years following the bicentennial celebrations the flag was flown on the Common for special occasions.
