Sometime between August 2018 and 2021, Evanston started using a new flag with
a new logo. It appears to depict houses by the Bear River as well as trees. It
also shows a train, perhaps paying homage to the fact the municipality exists
because of the railroad.

Selina Zuehlsdorff from the City of Evanston sent me a photo of the city flag.
According to Evanston: Boom-Bust-Politics, the first flag of Evanston was first
adopted in 1992 as official by Resolution 92-14. The resolution adopting the
flag was introduced by Councilwoman Julie Lehman and adopted unanimously. There
seems to not be a specific designer, as the city council and mayor took part in
the flag's design. However, it is described as having the city's seal in gold in
the center of the Wyoming bucking horse. I am not sure when this was dropped or
if it even made it onto the final version of the actual flag, although I'd
consider it likely it did.
The flag contains the old logo, which
has the motto "Fresh Air, Freedom and Fun" while also being in red white and
blue, which seems to not be a coincidence, but rather it seems to take direct
inspiration of the American flag's colors. The logo also depicts stylized
mountains, which watch over the city, perhaps in specific the Medicine Butte. In
the center is a man on a Wyoming bucking horse. My guess is that the stars seem
to have really no significance besides probably being an extension of the
American flag, as the number does not seem to correlate to a state number, etc.
