The North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF) is one of 51 state and territory affiliates of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). The members of the affiliate network help push for and implement NWF policies and goals for wildlife and habitat conservation and environmental protection. The NCWF was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in both Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina. The organization states as its mission "to protect, conserve and restore North Carolina wildlife and habitat." It does this through influencing state and federal environmental policies through science-based decision-making, creating a network of local chapters across the state to further the organization's goals at the grassroots level, and creating educational programs for youth and adults regarding awareness and appreciation of wildlife and the importance of protecting the environment. The photograph appears to show the organization's flag as featuring the NCWF logo centered on a white field.
