It pleases us highly to share with all of you the VENEZIMBOL' Symbols approved May 5, 2003 by our Board.

THE FLAG

- Attributes and Semiology

The Flag of the Venezuelan Association of Symbollogy - VENEZIMBOL presents a regular shape with ratio 2:3 and consists in a red wine field RGB 171-22-27 which charges the official logotype of the Association in its natural attributes into a white circle off-centered to the hoist. The VENEZIMBOL' logotype symbolizes the Institution: its essence, ideals and actions oriented in function of to serve efficiently the Venezuelan Nation in the sphere of its competence. The white circle alludes to the Clarity and the Integrity and symbolizes the study area of the Association: the Symbollogy and its connected disciplines. The red wine field - international emblematic color of Venezuela - remembers the courage and sacrifice necessary for the diffusion of the knowledge of the Symbollogy on the Nation and outside its borders.

- Historical Synthesis

It was created by Raúl Jesús Orta Pardo, Lidia Coronado, Marianella De Faria, Néstor Garrido and Giannina Provenzali in the course of a brainstorming session made to the effects during a session of the Association's Board on March 27th, 2003. The first sketch appeared the next day, anniversary of the Birth of General Francisco de Miranda, creator of the Venezuelan National Flag. It was approved by the VENEZIMBOL' Board on May 4th, 2003.

THE COAT OF ARMS

- Attributes

The Coat of Arms of VENEZIMBOL is an English shape enameled in Gules (red wine RGB 171-22-27) and bordered in Or (yellow) charging on the chief a constellation of seven five-pointed stars disposed in arc and a horse galloping from the dexter to the sinister with its head dexter-oriented in pretension, all in Argent (white). The Venezimbolist blazon have as external ornaments a censer flaming in Or and Gules and the official logotype of the Association in its natural attributes as crest.

- Semiology The field, enameled in Gules (red wine) symbolizes the Courage, the Intrepidity and the Sacrifice required for the diffusion of the knowledge of Symbollogy inside and outside Venezuela. The constellation of stars constitutes an homage to the Venezolanity and the National Flag, alluding too to the Clarity, the Constance in the services offered to the Nation and the shine of the personal and professional virtues of the members of VENEZIMBOL. The horse is a tribute to the Coat of Arms of the Republic reproducing it on the peculiar attitude which characterizes as one of its blazons and symbolizing the impetus and enthusiasm necessary for realize the purposes and objectives of the Association. The border in Or is an homage to the National Anthem and remembers the Joy, the Authority derived of the example and the Generosity: virtues which have to adorn all of who become to conduce the destiny of the Institution. The flaming censer symbolizes the Spirit of the Founders of the Association, The Wisdom and the Knowledge. The logotype remembers the essence, ideals and activities of VENEZIMBOL and the privilege to belong to it.

THE LOGOTYPE

- Attributes and Semiology

Consist in an enigma of the initials of the Association: "A" - the upper point- ; "V" - the lower point - and "S" - union of the points with the diagonal line- hide like a pennant with the Venezuelan national colors yellow, blue and red. It may appear outlined in black or in shades of gray under the same configuration.

- Historical Synthesis

It's the first symbol of the Association created by Raúl Jesús Orta Pardo and approved by the VENEZIMBOL' Board on March 1st, 2002.

THE EMBLEM

- Attributes and Semiology

Consists of the official logotype of VENEZIMBOL disposed into three circumferences: yellow -exterior-, blue -central- and red -interior- spaced between it by means of two circumferences with the same width of the precedents. It has two variants:

- Major-logo: the logotype and the circumferences are inside another circumference formed by the inscriptions: "ASOCIACION VENEZOLANA DE SIMBOLOGÏA" (VENEZUELAN ASSOCIATION OF SYMBOLLOGY) in the superior part and "VENEZIMBOL" in the inferior part, separated by means of points and realized in red wine gothic capital letters.

- Minor-logo: the logotype and the circumferences are inside another one in gold

Major-logo and Minor-logo haves too simplified versions in black and white with only one circumference.

- Historical Synthesis Created by Raúl Jesús Orta Pardo, it was approved by the VENEZIMBOL' Board on March 1st, 2002.

THE MOTTO

- Attributes and Semiology

Is the Latin phrase "PLUS QUAM MILES VERBA VALET" which is translated "IT VALUES MORE THAN THOUSAND WORDS". Extracted from the Spanish proverb "One Image values more than thousand words" the motto alludes to the intrinsic power of the Symbols, its overtaking and the responsibility raises of its correct study and use.

- Historical Synthesis

Suggested by Raúl Jesús Orta Pardo, it was approved by the VENEZIMBOL Board on March 1st, 2002.
