This flag was created and adopted in 2020. Each of the seven colors represents the seven directions of the Cherokee. This design (an original) was thoroughly researched for accuracy. Here are the descriptions including Cherokee definitions:
Yellow: da-lo-ni-ge - ᏓᎶᏂᎨ
Yellow represents above.
Blue: sa-go-ne-ge - ᏌᎪᏂᎨ
Blue is north and it represents difficulties and challenges.
Red: gi-ga-ge - ᎩᎦᎨ
Red is east and represents the rising sun, success, and triumph.
Green: i-tse-i-yu-s-di - ᏌᎪᏂᎨ
Green represents now, in the present.
White: u-ne-ga - ᎤᏁᎦ
White is south and represents peace and happiness.
Black: gv-ni-ge - ᎬᎿᎨ
Black is west and represents death and endings.
Brown: u-wo-di-ge - ᎤᏬᏗᎨ

The center star: no-qui-si ᏃᏈᏏ & Seven Clans: ga-li-quo-gi tsu-ni-yv-wi ᎦᎵᏉᎩ ᏧᏂᏴᏫ.
