On 1 January 2006 La Tour-de-Trême became part of Bulle.
The white wavy bar in the new emblem stands for the Trême river which flows through Bulle.
Bulle's first mentioning dates from 855 as Butulum (Latin for calf). The name evolved from
there to Bulle, which seems to be influenced by the German Bulle. Likewise on the emblem
the calf changed to a bull.
