Alternate version

A version of the coat of arms that I have obtained shows two oars crossed on the dexter and "or two fesses sable" on the sinister. It might either be a mistake or an old coat of arms. One more case to be deeper diggen into.

I fear that the images on the URL found earlier are not very accurate. All the current communes coat of arms of Luzern canton can be seen on the official website of Lucerne canton. For each commune a picture of the flag is available and I don't think that the official website of Lucerne canton will display wrong images. The Root flag is here.
