Colegio San José was established in 1933 in Cartagena de Indias (Bolívar) by Sister María Luisa Böhler, an Austrian nun from the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a congregation founded by St. María Bernarda Bütler (1848-1924; canonized on 12 October 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI).

The flag of Colegio San José is horizontally divided white-dark brown with a triangle horizontally divided blue-pink placed along the hoist. Blue and pink represents Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Coffee brown represents St. Francis of Sales. White represents the children's purity and innocence.

Institución Educativa Colegio San José de Guanentá was established in San Gil (Santander Department) by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian School (Lasallians). Guanentá is one of the six provinces forming the Santander Department.
The flag of the institute is divided yellow-blue by the descending diagonal. Yellow represents the sun, light, and knowledge. Blue represents the sky, kindness, and clarity.

Colegio San José de Las Vegas (Las Vegas' St. Joseph School) is located in Medellin, in an avenue called Las Vegas, hence its name.
The flag is based on image from an album of alumni on Facebook called "LAS VEGAS '98 MEDELLIN".

The description and symbolism seem to indicate horizontal stripes instead of vertical:
"The flag is made of three horizontal stripes blue, white, and blue with the shield of the institute in the middle.
Blue symbolizes the highness and depth of the institute's philosophy.
While represents the commitment to be authentic and accurate. White, between the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea, represents the human being between highness and depth.

Colegio San José de La Salle is located in Medellín (Antioquia Department).
The flag of the institute is horizontally divided green-white. Green is a symbol of hope and vigor, as represented by the masculine component of the institute. White is a symbol of faith and peace, as represented by the feminine component of the institute. These colours are also those of the flag of Antioquia Department, arranged in reverse order.

Institución Educativa San José was originally established on 30 November 1963 in Itagüí (Antioquia Department), as Liceo Departamental Feminino. The school was renamed Liceo Tecnico Comercial in 1968. Institución Educativa San José was eventually established in 2002.
The flag of the institute is green with three yellow, red and yellow stripes (1:2:1) running form the upper left to the lower right corner of the flag. In the middle is placed the emblem of the institute.
The emblem of the institute is made of a green disk bordered by a red ring inscribed with the institute's name and motto, "EN BUSCA DE LA EXCELENCIA EDUCATIVA" [In Search of Educational Excellence] in yellow letters. On the disk is placed a blue shield bordered in yellow, featuring a light blue globe with a dark blue map of the Americas, hold by two hand-shaped devices, the left one white and the right one dark blue. In chief are placed four white stars, in base are placed three white stars.
Red, yellow and green are the colours of the flag of Itagüí. Red is a symbol of human touch, courage, love, passion and dynamism. Yellow is a symbol of creativity, light and skills. Green is a symbol of balance, personal and collective growth, and human ecology. Blue is a symbol of protection, calm, tranquility and serenity.

Institución Educativa San José No. 1 originates in Escuela Urbana de Niñas de San José, established in the San José borough, municipality of Magangué, by Decree No. 19, adopted on 10 February 1958 by the Government of the Bolívar Department.
Institución Educativa San José No. 1, was subsequently established as the merger of Escuela Urbana de Niñas de San José, Concentración Mixta San Martín, Escuela Olaya Herrera, Escuela de Niños Especialdes Marcelo Duchemín, Escuela Etelvina Niebles de 2 de Noviembre, and Escuela Hogar la Candelaria.

The flag of I.E. San Jose N 1 is white with a blue triangle, bordered in yellow, placed along the hoist, and the institute's coat of arms at fly. White is a symbol of cognitive transparency, ethics and moral, which are the symbols of a life guided by God. Blue represents the sky, whose wideness and beauty are symbols of an exceptional vision of life. Yellow is a symbol of wealth, abundance and prosperity in the development of all human dimensions.

The bee-hive is a symbol of working spirit, collaboration and organization. The open book highlights the building of personal knowledge as a token of commitment. The laurel wreath surrounding the shield represents achievements. The institute's motto, "Ciencia y Esfuerzo" (Science and Force) is written in white letters on a red scroll placed beneath the shield.
