Lauchheim Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, two garden leeks Vert in saltire, in central chief a cross patty Sable, in central base an attire Sable in pale with four points.
Meaning:
Since the 14th century the Teutonic Order gained all local rights step by step, especially in 1397 the right to fortify the city, in 1402 the rank of a market town and in 1431 the rank of a city for the commandery of the order in Kapfenburg, the latter granted by King Sigismund. The oldest city seal with prints from 1448 already displayed the canting garden leeks (Latin: Allium ampeloprasum, German: Porree or Lauch. Seals from the 19th century also displayed an embattled tower on top of the shield, which was omitted in the 20th century. The tinctures of the arms are known since 1902. After Hülen and Röttingen had been incorporated into Lauchingen in 1974 and 1975, the inhabitants of Hülen wished to embed the cross of the Teutonic Order from their proper arms into the new arms of Lauchheim. Röttingen is represented by the attire of the Cupbearers of Schenkenstein, who had been benefactors of Röttingen.
