Aichach Coat of Arms

Shield Argent an eradicated oak Vert with acorns Or.
Meaning:
Aichach was considered to be a city since the 13th century. The oldest city seal with prints since 1315 already displayed the canting oak (German: Eiche). On later seals and pictures since 1721 the appearance changed to a natural oak standing on a hill. In the early 16th century the background colour sometimes is blue, but the white background prevailed since around 1560. Between 1910 and 1948 the background became parted per pale of white and red, based on the already existing colours of the banners. The current version of the arms was painted in 1949.

The banner is in use since 1910. The arms were confirmed on 29 July 1949 by Bavarian main State Archive (Hauptstaatsarchiv) in München.
