Emmerting Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a bridge issuant Argent, at sinister Argent an oak leaf Vert with an acorn of the same, chief Gules charged with a pale Argent.
Meaning:
The charges in base refer to the location. The bridge is representing the Alz River, leaf and acorn are representing the Ötting Forest. The bridge had been a toll station in the past. The forest had been of great economic importance. Furthermore leaf and acorn are alluding to the fact that the village was established by forest clearance. Furthermore the forest had been a ducal hunting ground. The tinctures white and blue thus are those of the Dukes of Bayern. The chief is taken from the family arms of the Counts of Taufkirchen-Guttenburg, who ruled the village until the 19th century. Its tinctures are also those of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, which gained the Region around Unteremmerting in 815 by a donation.
