Ilmtal-Weinstraße Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a red kite with 16 pinions armed Or, issuant from base a mount Vert, charged on middle base point by a wavy field of Argent over Azure over Argent and on its edge nine linden leaves Vert.
Meaning:
In the municipality is Germany's biggest population of red kites (Latin: Milvus milvus). The embowed base, i.e. the mount, is representing the Weinstraße (English: vine road), an important historical highway. The number of leaves, in the Hauptsatzung mentioned as linden trees, is the number of former municipalities, when the municipality was founded. The number of pinions is the current, i.e. in 2019, number of former municipalities. The blue wavy bar in base is representing the Ilm River.

Niederroßla Coat of Arms

Shield Gules an elephant passant Argent, charged in centre with an inescutcheon Gules with a castle Argent with port, windows and roofs Sable on top of a base Sable with bordure Argent.
Meaning:
The elephant is reminding on the elephant cow Miss Baba, which died inexplicably in 1857, while passing the municipality. This event is celebrated every year on the local elephant festival. The castle is a representation of the moated castle of Niederoßla.

Shield Or parted by a fess wavy Azure, above an otter passant reguardant Sable with a fish Azure in his muzzle, beneath three bulrushes Vert with maces Sable.
Meaning:
The fess wavy, representing a creek (German: Bach) and the bulrushes (in German also called: Rohr) are canting elements. The otter probably is referring to nature.
