Haldensleben Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a ruined church tower Argent with ports and windows Sable.
Meaning:
The only remains of the devastated medieval village Nordhusen were parts of its church tower. Nordhusen had been the first settlement within the tithing of Hundisburg and some kind of predecessor of the current village. Hundisburg developed in the 12th century, when the settlement core was moved to Hunoldesburg Castle. The white colour is symbolising the greywacke, which forms the subsoil of the region and was used as building material. The tinctures red and white had been those of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, to which Hundisburg historically belonged.
