Arnschwang Coat of Arms

Shield Azure abased parted by a fess wavy Argent; issuant from fess a saint Argent, nimbed Or, dressed Gules and coted Argent, dividing his coat by a sword Azure hilted Or in fess; on sinister chief an inescutcheon parted twice per fess of Or, Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The saint is St. Martin, recognisable by his attributes coat and sword. He is patron saint of the local parish church, founded by the original parish of Chammünster. The sword is furthermore alluding to the fact that the village often suffered from axts of war in the past. The inescutcheon displays the family arms of the Sattelboger kin and is reminding on the efforts of Erasmus Sattelboger, owner of the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark), who supported the inhabitants during the Hussite wars (1419 â€“ 1433). The fess wavy is a representation of the Chamb, a creek. The main tinctures blue and white are those of the Wittelsbach kin and are stressing that the village belonged to the Palatine Electorate.
