Introduction of Am Dobrock Comprehensive Municipality

Am Dobrock had 11 807 inhabitants in 2015 and covers 178.1 km². It consists of seven municipalities. On 1 June 1965 the municipalities of Cadenberge, Wingst and Oppeln, having 5789 inhabitants in total, merged. On 1 January 1970 the municipalities of Bülkau and Oberndorf joined, finally on 1 January 1972 also the municipalities of Belum (no proper flag known) and Geversdorf together with neuhaus Market Town joined. When the city hall in Cadenberge was finished in 1979, Cadnberge became seat of the comprehensive municipality.

Am Dobrock Comprehensive Municipality Coat of Arms

The shield is parted per pale with a blue base, charged with an oat ear. At dexter in a green field is a silver fir. At sinister in a white field is a red demi-millwheel issuant from line of partition.
Meaning:
The fir is taken from the arms of Wingst, where the Dobrock, name giver of the municipality, is situated. The demi-wheel is representing Cadenberge, the seat of the municipality. The oat plant is probably representing agriculture and horse breeding.

Belum Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base a picket fenced gabion Or, in chief an impending hat of Mercury Or.
Meaning:
The gabion is alluding to the belum Trench, which played a role in the 17th century wars. Mercury's hat is the symbol of trade and alluding to the local victuals market.

Bülkau Coat of Arms

The shield is parted per pale. At dexterity is parted 9 times parted per fess of black and gold, superimposed by a green crancelin. At sinister issuant from line of partition in a red field is a half silver key, set in pale.
Meaning:
The arms combine the arms of the Dukes of Saxony at the dexter half and the Archbishops of Bremen at the sinister half, both having been former rulers.

Neuhaus (Oste) Coat of Arms

The shield is parted per fess. Above in a silver field is a red demi-lion issuant, holding a paly, blue key in his forepaws. Beneath in a red field a stepped, silver gable, charged with a blue boathook.
Meaning:
The pattern was already known from seals of the local court in Neuhaus Subcounty (Amt). The key is alluding to the Archbishopric of Bremen, the lion probably a modification of that one of the Welfen kin. In 1404 Archbishop Otto of Braunschweig established the castle Neuenburg in a loop of Oste River. In 1502 the market town gained customs facilities. The gable is referring to Oste River, the hook is alluding to shipping traffic on the rivers Oste and Aue.

The chief with bar wavy is representing Oste River, the other parts display the arms of the Lords of Brobergen, former local rulers.

Wingst Coat of Arms

The shield is green. In base is a mount issuant Argent, crowned by a silver fir, flanked by two golden, paly wheat ears.
Meaning:
The mountain might be the Dobrock, where famous horse shows take place every year. The Dobrock is name giver of the comprehensive municipality. The fir is representing the predominant tree in Wingst Forest and the wheat ears are representing agriculture.
