Simmozheim Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a lion rampant Or, holding a crozier Argent in pale by his forepaws, in sinister chief a 6-point star Argent.
Meaning:
Since the beginning of the 14th century the Lords of Kröwelsau had been local rulers as vassals of the Counts of Vaihingen, later of the Counts of Württemberg. In 1431 Herrenalb Abbey gained three quarters of the local control and the last quarter in 1442. The village became a dominion of Württemberg, together with the abbey, after the reformation. The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Vaihingen, the star from the arms of the Lords of Kröwelsau, the crozier had been a local symbol since 1682 and is also representing the rule of Herrenalb Abbey.

The arms are in use since 1927 and were adopted in 1956. The banner was approved on 29 September 1983 by the county administration, published in GABl 299/1984.
