Sulzemoos Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, between two pairs of wings Argent, each charged with a fess Sable, a sinister pointing crozier Argent in pale, charged with a cross patty of the same.
Meaning:
The wings are taken from the family arms of the Hundt kin. They are reminding on Dr. Wiguläus Hundt, a historian and president of the Bavarian ducal court. He acquired the local castle in 1546 together with the districts of Obersulzemoos and Untersulzemoos. The family ruled both until 1638. The crozier is representing the former Einsbach Municipality and Fürstenfeld Abbey, which had the local cognisance between 1402 and 1803. The cross is an attribute of St. Florian, patron saint of chimney sweeps, soapmakers, and firefighters, and also local patron saint of Wiedenzhausen. Einsbach and Wiedenzhausen were incorporated into Sulzemoos in 1978.
