Hohes Kreuz Coat of Arms

The shield is blue, divided by a red cross fimbriated silver. In the centre of the cross is a silver 6-spokes wheel, emerging from wheel are four silver oak leaves, one upon each cross bar.
Meaning:
The four arms of the cross are probably representing the former municipalities of Bischhagen, Mengelrode, Siemerode and Streitholz, which merged on 1 January 1991. The wheel is representing the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. The oak leaves a re alluding to the Eichsfeld region.

Hohes Kreuz had 1293 inhabitants in 2015 and covers 18.0 km². The municipality was first mentioned in 1991, Siemerode in 1055, Mengelrode in 1310, Bischhagen in 1445 and Streitholz in 1286.

Reinholterode Coat of Arms

The shield is golden, divided by a red cross, superimposing a black mattock and a black key in saltire. The centre of the cross is charged with a silver 6-spokes wheel. The shield has a red base charged with a silver serpent.
Meaning:
The serpent was the only figure displayed in the local seal from 1953 until 1994. The mattock probably is representing the suffix "-rode", a settlement created by forest clearance. The wheel is representing the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers.

Steinbach Coat of Arms

The shield is blue and shows a golden owl guardant, accompanied in sinister chief by a silver fleur-de-lis. It has a silver base, divided by a blue bar wavy, charged with five golden stones.
Meaning:
The owl is referring to the nickname of the inhabitants. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of Our Lady of Assumption, the patron of the chapel of Etzelsbach. The bar wavy filled with stones is a canting element. The municipality's name means "stoney creek".

Wingerode Coat of Arms

The shield is mantled. Above right in a red field a silver bend sinister wavy; above left in a red field a silver, bendy axe; in silver base is a red, flambant heart, charged (blazon says "tierced") with three golden nails.
Meaning:
The flambant heart is reminding on Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit Order. It is also alluding to the Jesuit College in nearby Heiligenstadt. Finally it is alluding to St. Ignatius Chapel, being a place of pilgrimage since more than 300 years. The bend sinister is representing Leine River. The axe is reminding on the fact, that the settlement developed by forest clearance.
