Meaning:
Mörsdorf was first mentioned in 1547. The conifers are symbolising forestal riches, which had been of economic importance for a long time. The bridge was replaced between 1996 and 2002 by two parallel bridges due to the extension of the local motorway. The boar is symbolising the disputability of the inhabitants, who resisted successfully the frequent attempts of seigneurs to exploit them. The boar is also symbolising the rich wildlife in the surrounding forests. The millwheel is taken from the family arms of the Lords of Lichtenhain, former local rulers. Millwheel and fess wavy are also alluding to the pair of watermills alongside the Zeitzbach, a creek. The green colour is symbolising forestal riches and the Holzland, i.e. woodlands.
