Pförring Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, two round towers Argent with roofs Gules on a base Vert, between the towers an inecutcheon lozengy of Argent and Azure, topped by a roof Gules.
Meaning:
Pförring gained the rights of a market town in 1318, granted by King Ludwig the Bavarian. In 1361 Duke Stephan II of Bayern granted the right to built a bridge, in order to charge customs duty. The town was fortified due to an order of the Bavarian Dukes Ernst and Wilhelm. The arms are based on a print of the first town seal from 1374. The building is a representation of the local fortification at the bridge crossing the Donau River (English: Danube). The inescutcheon is symbolising the rule of the Dukes of Bayern. The pattern remained basically the same. In the 19th century the inescutcheon was displayed as impending.
