Kandel Associated Municipality Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a sword Argent in pale pointing to base hilted Or and in canton a 6-point star Or, at sinister VArgent an oak twig Vert with two leaves and one acorn, orle in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
Sword and star are taken from the city arms of Kandel. The oak twig is representing the local woods.

Erlenbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter Argent an alder Vert on top of a mount of the same; at sinister Sable a lion rampant Or, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The arms are based on a local court seal from 1753. The alder (German: Erle) is a canting element. The sinister half displays the arms of the Palatine Counts of Rhine, the former rulers.

Freckenfeld Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, on base Vert an arch Argent, in it a serifed initial "F" of the same.
Meaning:
The arms display the Dampfnudel-Gate, a local building. A Dampfnudel is a sweet dumpling. During the 30-Years-War local bakers feeded Swedish soldiers with those dumpling, with much wine in the paste. As a result the inhabitants kept untroubled by the Swedish.

Kandel Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a sword Argent in pale hilted Or and pointing to base, flanked by four facetted 6-point stars Or.
Meaning:
Kandel is the seat of the namesake associated municipality. Kandel as a possession of the Lords of Guttenberg was considered to be a market town since the 16th century. It gained city rights in 1937. The arms are based on a local court seal with prints since 1490. The sword is a differentiation of the family arms of the Lords of Kannel, former local rulers. Their arms displayed two black swords in saltire on a silver shield. That pattern was also used on a court seal from 1639. The stars are considered to be attributes of St. Mary, the local patron saint.

Meaning:
Both parts are differentiations of the arms of the Wittelsbach kin, at dexter of the Palatine lion and at sinister of the Bavarian lozenges.
