Shield Azure, a braided open round rope Or gemmed Gules at both ends.
Meaning:
The rope is known as the golden chain of Isenbüttel. There is a legend of two brothers Iso (the good) and Kalu (the bad). As a reward for his support in fighting against Heinrich the Lion, German Emperor Heinrich VI granted a golden chain, alleged to have been taken from the treasure of the fabulous Nibelungen kin, to Iso. His brother Kalu was grasped by envy and instructed a highwayman to steel the chain. But the robbery failed and the chain was lost. In the end Kalu was slain for punishment by his brother Iso, who afterwards committed suicide, repenting, what he had done. A chain found in 1922 was considered to be the lost chain from the legend.
