Shield parted enhanced per fess wavy, above Argent, a tower issuant Gules, beneath Gules a lion passant Or armed and tongued Azure.
Meaning:
The partition per fess wavy and the tower are alluding to Brome Castle, nowadays being a museum. The lion is referring to the fact that the market town historically belonged to the Duchy of Braunschweig. The colours red and white are those of the Bishopric of Halberstadt, to which Brome belonged before.

Shield Vert, an open annulet Argent in base, coming out from aperture a twig of goat-willow Argent with three leaves.
Meaning:
The open annulet is referring to the roundling settlement, which is very common in the area. The village was first mentioned in 1366 as "Rughinghe", which means "stand of goat-willows" (Latin: Salix caprea).
The arms were approved on 22 September 1989.

Rühen-Brechtorf Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, parted by a throughout cross Argent with wavy horizontal bar, in canton an open annulet Argent.
Meaning:
The name of the municipality means "little ford", thus the cross has an historical context, alluding to the ford. It is also symbolising that the municipality is located alongside the road from Rühen to Wolfsburg and at the Mittelland Canal. The annulet is symbolising a roundling, the typical Medieval form of villages in the area.
