Neulußheim Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, divided by a facetted (or gyronny) cross Argent, flanked by four 6-point stars Or.
Meaning:
Neulußheim was founded in 1710 on the territory of (Alt-)Lußheim by Julius Schickard, a special administrator of the Duke of Württemberg. The area had been under the patronage of the Bishopric of Speyer under the protectorate of Württemberg. And the bishop was angry, because Schickard and the duke didn't arrange things with him. So the bishopric tried, finally in vain, to restrain the development of the new settlement, which then had the name Lußhofen. (more details in German see here). In 1816 the settlement was renamed to Neulußheim, which became an independent municipality in 1821. Its local seals from the 19th century displayed just the initials "NL", accompanied by a star. When the municipality adopted arms, it chose strangely arms of its enemy, the Bishop of Speyer, with the stars, referring to the seal, as a distinguishing mark.

The arms were adopted in 1911 by the municipality.
