Coat of Arms

Shield Or, an eagle Sable, armed and tongued Gules, flanked by two 6-point stars Azure.
Meaning:
The oldest known local seal, known since 1534, but dating from the 15th century, already displays the eagle and stars. All later images and seals have displayed the same composition, which was officially approved in 1952, when also the colours were fixed. The eagle is the Imperial eagle and indicates that the village historically was a Free Imperial Estate (German: Reichsgut). The origin of the stars is not known. The blue colour was chosen in 1952 as it is the colour of Nassau, to which the village belonged for many centuries.
