Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale into Azure and Or with base wavy of five barrulets wavy in counterchanged and alternating colours, an alder twig with two leaves and six fruit also in counterchanged colours.
Meaning:
The arms are canting. The municipality's name means "lake of alders". The twig is representing alder (German: Erle), the barrulets the lake. The leaves are representing former municipalities of Rücklingen and Langendiebach, which merged on 1 January 1970

Langendiebach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent two bars Sable, at sinister Vert,an irregular pall wavy Or.
Meaning:
The arms appear on the oldest court seal from the 16th century with copies from the 17th century. The dexter half displays the arms of the Lords of Isenburg, the former rulers. The sinister half is canting, here the pall wavy is representing the name giving creek. The green colour is stressing the rural character of the municipality.
The arms were approved in 1953 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
