Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules three chevrons Or, at sinister a sinister facing Imperial eagle Sable couped per pale, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The dexter half is representing former Ostheim and Windecken municipalities. The latter had the arms of the Counts of Hanau. The dexter half is also alluding to the Counts of Hanau. Probably due to heraldic rules their arms here are displayed in counterchanged colours. The sinister half is representing former Heldenbergen municipality, which had been part of the Burgraviate of Friedberg, and thus displays the Imperial eagle, which is actually the left half of the double-headed eagle of Friedberg, although blazon denotes him as "single-headed". The arms were approved on 4 May 1971.
