Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base Vert, issuant from base two oaks Vert, in front of the oaks a lion couchant guardant Or.
Meaning:
Meaning: The current pattern already appeared on seals of the local council from 1520 and 1669. It is the lion of the Welfen kin, after the Bishops of Hildesheim had ceded Burgdorf to the Dukes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg in 1420/1421 at the end of a local war. The dukes erected a castle and enlarged the city. The oaks are representing Burgdorfer Holz, a forest, where many new citizens settled down. The flag colours repeat the colours of the charges.
The arms were confirmed in 1940 by Oberpräsident of Prussian Hannover Province.

Beinhorn Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Vert a lion issuant Or tongued Gules; beneath Vert a millstone Argent charged with a milrind Sable.
Meaning:
In Beinhorn there existed a Vehmic Court (German: Freigericht) until the 17th century. This is symbolised by the lion issuant, also in other municipalities of the region. Millstone and milrind are reminding on the legendary "Moormühle", a watermill near the namesake current wayside inn.

Shield parted per fess embattled; above Vert a lion issuant Or tongued Gules; beneath Argent with base Vert, issuant from base three firs Vert.
Meaning:
In Heeßel there existed a Vehmic Court (German: Freigericht) until the 17th century. This is symbolised by the lion issuant, also in other municipalities of the region. The lower part is referring to a castle, that had been in the Heeßeler Tannen, a forest literally translated as "firs of Heeßel".

Otze Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Vert a lion issuant Or tongued Gules; beneath Argent a wheel cross Gules.
Meaning:
In Otze there existed a Vehmic Court (German: Freigericht) until the 17th century. This is symbolised by the lion issuant, also in other municipalities of the region. The court met twice or thrice every year, always in different villages, belonging to the court. The wheel cross is one form of a sunwheel, a.k.a. "cross of life", a pre-Christian symbol, which had been overtaken as an ornament of the local chapel in 1250.

Meaning:
In Ramlingen-Ehlershausen there existed a Vehmic Court (German: Freigericht) until the 17th century. This is symbolised by the lion issuant, also in other municipalities of the region. The milrind is symbolising the solidarity of both settlement cores. The leaves are alluding to a deed of donation, where Duke Ernst the Confessor granted the local ponds to the village Ramlingen as a reward for its abiding services.

Meaning:
In Weferlingsen there existed a Vehmic Court (German: Freigericht) until the 17th century. This is symbolised by the lion issuant, also in other municipalities of the region. The ears are stressing the rural character of the village. The bee hive is reminding on beekeeping as an important business line in the past.
