Meaning:
Oerlenbach was established in 1972 by a merger of Ebenhausen, Eltingshausen, Oerlenbach proper and Rottershausen. The wolf is taken from the arms of Eltingshausen, his direction was changed. He is the heraldic animal of the Lords of Eltingshausen, who had been local rulers in the village until 1465. The wing is taken from the arms of the Lords of Münster, who owned estates in Ebenhausen. Blue and silver are the city colours of Schweinfurt. Rottershausen belonged to the Imperial Bailiwick of Schweinfurt. Red and silver are the tinctures of the Bshopric of Würzburg. Bishop Albrecht of Hohenlohe (1349 - 1372) acquired sovereign rights especially in Ebenhausen.
