Mittelsinn Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale, at dexter parted by a fess dancetty with three points of Gules and Argent, at sinister Or two sceptres of a mayor Gules in saltire; beneath Vert under a pale wavy Argent a watermill wheel Or.
Meaning:
The so called Franconian rake above right is alluding to the fact that Mittelsinn belonged to the Bishopric of Würzburg. The sceptres, or if you prefer batons, are symbolising the local court (Zehntgericht). Since the 15th century ownership and cognisance were split between four parties. Among those the most important ones had been the Lords of Thüngen and the Lords of Hutten, represented by the tinctures of their family arms, red and golden. The batons are also symbolising a local condominion of Bayern and Hessen, which existed between the beginning of the 19th century until 1866. Pale and wheel are symbolising the Sinn River and its watermills. The green colour is stressing the rural character and the location between the forests Rhön and Spessart.
