Korntal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The red shield is divided by a silver (=white) cross. The upper dexter corner is superimposed by a golden (= yellow) crown.
Meaning:
Korntal was first mentioned 1297. In 1819 a college of Christian brethren gained privileges to form a civil-religious community, which had been granted by King Wilhelm I. The Moravian brethren built up some social institutions in Krontal, e.g. schools and a reformatory. The privileges were withdrawn in 1919 and since then also non-brethren were allowed to settle down in Korntal. In 1958 the municipality gained city rights. The cross is symbolizing the merits of the Moravian brethren building up the city. The crown is symbolizing the privileges granted by the king of Württemberg.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 21 August 1956 by minister of interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 620/1956, abolished on 1 January 1975.

Münchingen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (= yellow) shield is a blue sling, superimposed by an initial "M" of the same colour.
Meaning:
Münchingen was first mentioned in 1130 and became a possession of Württemberg, after the sons of Ulrich of Asperg had ceded the village to Count Ulrich of Württemberg in 1336. "M" is the initial of the former municipality and the sling, being a tool to carry buckets and kettles, is symbolizing the rural character of the village.
