Hesel SG Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess into silver (= white) over green. Above between two green fir trees stands a red church with three Gothic orgive windows and a stepped gable, which is crowned by a black cross. Below are three golden (= yellow) ears of grain ordered like a fan.
Meaning:
The church is symbolizing the monasteries on the municipal area, especially Barthe Monastery. The trees are symbolizing Heseler Wald, a local forest. The grain is symbolizing the rural character of the municipality.

Brinkum Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess embattled into silver (= white) over green. Above are two green quatrefoils ordered per fess. Below is a silver (= white) jug with black zigzag ornaments.
Meaning:
The embattled line is symbolizing a former castle. The quatrefoils are symbolizing agriculture. The jug is symbolizing the numerous archaeological excavations in the area.

Schwerinsdorf Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess into gold (= yellow) and red. The dexter side is displaying a red lozenge. The sinister side is displaying a golden (= yellow) 5-point star above and a quatrefoil of the same colour below.
Meaning:
Meaning: The Count of Schwerin had been district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Aurich at the beginning of the 19th century. To honour him, the village got its current name. The red lozenge in a golden field is taken from his personal arms. The star is alluding to the wayside inn named "The Golden Star". The pub had also been a coaching inn at the road from Leer to Westerstede. The quatrefoil is symbolizing the rural character of the village.
