Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above in a field Azure a demi-lion issuant Argent, armed and tongued Gules, beneath parted per pale, at dexter in a field Or a lozenge Gules, at sinister in a field Gules a hazelnut Or.
Meaning:
The arms display in the upper half a modification with reversed colours of the lion of the Counts of Solms. Historically the village belonged to the Amt Greifenstein of the County of Solms. The counts established in the smelting company in 1587 in order to produce cannons and gun powder. The lozenge is representing the Lords of Bicken, who ruled the village as vassals of the Counts of Solms. The hazel nut in the lower left half is a canting element, the name is derived from Haselar (= place of hazels).
The arms were approved in 1959 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
