Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base three embattled towers Argent, topped by cone roofs Gules with golden balls and connected by an embattled wall Argent masoned Sable; issuant from towers a (demi-)lion rampant Or armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The arms are based on the oldest seals of the village. The oldest seal dates from the early 14th century and displays already a tower, wall and gate. Above the wall the image of St. Mary, the local patron saint was depicted. After 1557 she was replaced by a shield with the lion of Nassau, as the city was regained by the Counts of Nassau. In the current arms the lion, without the typical shingles (billets) was placed directly above the wall, and the wall was displayed with three towers as a canting element ("Dreidorf" means "three villages").
The arms were designed and approved in 1938 by Oberpräsident of Prussian province Hessen-Nassau.
