Baierbrunn Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The triangular shield has a blue, embattled chief. The silver (= white) main field is divided by three black bars.
Meaning:
The bars are taken from the arms of the Lords of Baierbrunn, who had their ancestral seat in the village since the 12th century. The embattled chief is representing a castle on top of Konradshöhe, a local mountain. Name giver of the mountain had been Konrad of Baierbrunn, who played an important role in the battle of Mühldorf (1322) as an imperial captain (Feldhauptmann). After his dead in 1333 the family died out and was succeeded by the Wittelsbach kin. The colours blue and silver allude to the close connections with the Dukes of Bavaria.

The coat of arms was approved on 21 December 1970 by district government of Oberbayern. According to the municipality the flag is in use but had never been approved officially.
