Striegistal Coat of Arms

Shield Azure parted by a fess wavy Argent; in chief a lime kiln Argent masoned Sable with stokehole of the same and topped by three flames Gules, flanked by two grain ears Or; in base hammer and mallet Argent.
Meaning:
On 1 July 2008 the municipalities of Striegistal and Tiefenbach merged. The current arms are basically those of the former municipality of Tiefenbach, which displayed three grain ears. The central ear was replaced by the lime kiln. In the former Tiefenbach arms hammer and mallet were referring to local silver mining, the grain ears to the importance of agriculture and the fess wavy is representing the many local water courses. The former arms of Striegistal displayed on a silver (= white) shield, parted by a bend sinister wavy Azure, on dexter chief a black lime kiln masoned white and topped by three flames Gules, on sinister base a grain ear Vert. The grain ears in former and current arms are stressing the importance of agriculture. The kilns in both are symbolsing lime burning, first practised by local farmers and later by factories. The fess wavy (in current arms) and the bend wavy (in former arms) are representing both Striegis Rivers, which merge in the municipality.
